Quick update on life before the update on Baby T ... Brandon's little sister graduated from high school the first weekend in June. My father in law, Brad, drove back to Utah with me last Monday to help me finish packing and get the house ready to be emptied. Brandon and his mom, Mandi, came out Thursday morning to load the truck, clean the house, finish packing. Friday morning we loaded up the Trooper, locked up the house, and said good-bye to Salt Lake City. Late Friday night (after ~16 hours) we arrived in Medford to drop off the Trooper and sleep. Saturday morning, we saw my parents and sister, picked up a rocking chair for the baby's room, and drove ~5 1/2 hours to our new home in Beaverton.
When we got here, a whole bunch of amazing people (Devita, Patrick, Jacob, Matt, Jessica) came over to help unload the truck. Having 10 people to unload made it go by REALLY quick, which was a huge blessing -- especially considering how long it took to load the sucker! Thanks EVERYONE for all your help! Now we're practically neighbors! :-D
Have I mentioned how stoked I am to be so close to our close friends? Not to mention the fact that our families are only 4 1/2 hours away now. All good things. :)
Denali is adjusting well to his new home. In fact, he doesn't even seem to notice that this isn't our house in Utah. lol Silly boy. He's off getting in to trouble right now; I am pretty sure he needs a long walk later today to burn off some of this energy.
Pictures of the new place will be posted soon. However, not until after I do more important things like go to the grocery store. lol It's a gorgeous house though, and we are excited to turn it into a home! :-D
That being said, here's the update on Ralph this week. Only 10 more days until I'm officially in the second trimester! I can't believe it! We have our First Tri screening on Wednesday and our second appt on Thursday. I am hoping we'll get to hear the little bean's heartbeat this time! :) Geez. Still hard to believe we made a little human that is growing inside me!
Anyway, some notable growth events for this week include: fingerprints, opening and closing fingers, and curling of the toes. :)
Your pregnancy: 12 weeks
How your baby's growing:
The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby's brain, synapses are forming furiously. His face looks unquestionably human: His eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head, and his ears are right where they should be. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over 2 inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.
