Baby making success!

Soooo... I am pregnant! Woah!

I am in a little bit of shock right now. Very excited and freaking out just a little bit! Holy smokes!

Remember how mid-October I wanted to test because I hoped I would be pregnant? Yeah, I tested ... and had a negative test. Took three more over the next three weeks with the same results and finally gave up. I hadn't had a period, but I was still throwing out negative tests so I figured my body was still just trying to regulate itself after coming off the pill. I've been waiting ... and waiting ... and waiting for my period to start, actually getting kind of annoyed that it wasn't.

Now I know why!

We had dinner (sushi, go figure.. haha) and then put in a movie. Devita and I had a pretty low key and lazy day today and Brandon has been up since 3:15am because he went duck hunting. And even though it was only 6:00, all we wanted to do was lay around and veg out. We put in Despicable Me - Aspen cuddled me the whole time - and I fell asleep about 30 minutes in because I was so warm and cozy. After the movie was over, we put Aspen to bed and Devita ran to the grocery store. I went upstairs to put on PJs and go to the bathroom and had a random thought that I should take a pregnancy test. I haven't taken one in about a week and a half and really didn't want to take another because those suckers are expensive and I was pretty tired of getting negative results. However, something told me that I should test again ... so test again I did.

Believe me when I say that I was completely shocked to look at it after washing my hands and seeing two VERY clear lines! Holy cow! That is not at all what I was expecting to see! I yelled for Brandon to come up and as he's walking up the stairs, he says, "Are you doing what I think you're doing?" He says he figured I must be since I haven't had a period in 8 weeks. Apparently my logic of randomly skipping a period wasn't good enough for him. ;)

We, of course, came down and told Devita. We are probably going to hold on to the news a little while before completely letting the cat out of the bag, but she lives with us. There's no way we could NOT tell her! :)

Um. Holy smokes! Pregnant! With a second baby! On our first try! Yikes! Our life is changing in big ways. We don't do anything halfway, that's for sure!
