Celebrating Brandon's birthday

Around here, we tend to make birthdays last all weekend. Since Brandon's birthday was on a Sunday this year, it worked out pretty well. We started out the weekend by going out to lunch on Friday at Noodles and Company for some birthday mac and cheese. We took Aspen there on her birthday too - apparently it is becoming quite a tradition this year!

On Saturday night we went to Famous Dave's for dinner, which is a BBQ chain in Tualatin. It was Brandon's choice and we had a great time with our friends. We went with Paul and Caytlin, Matt and Jessica, and Joni, Jeremy, and Sofia. The girls did a pretty good job entertaining each other while we ate and food was awesome. We are huge BBQ fans, so the more the merrier! We were certainly on meat overload after that!

On Sunday, Brandon's actual birthday, I started off the morning with a to-die-for breakfast: cinnamon roll pancakes. They were SO good! Seriously, so good. Brandon loves cinnamon rolls and I thought this would be a fun twist. Needless to say, I was right. :)

Later that day, we decided to go to the school and let Denali run for a while. It was also nice to get out and go for a walk. Any chance we have to get out of the house in dry(ish) weather is a chance we take advantage of, especially now! Denali had a great time chasing the ball and Aspen had a blast playing in the giant puddles. She didn't mind getting wet at all.

Brandon grilled steaks for dinner and for dessert, I tried my hand at chocolate molten cakes that turned out absolutely delightful. It's a good thing we went on a walk earlier in the day to walk off all that good food!

All in all it was a pretty good weekend for us! Lots of love, lots of family time. Lots of celebrating that wonderful hubs of mine! All was as it should be.
